A website called Worker.gov has just been launched to help inform employees of their rights and how to file formal complaints with government agencies.
The EEOC, NLRB, OSHA, and DOL Wage-and-Hour Division are all addressed. Each has its own list of employee rights – right to be treated equally (EEOC), right to engage with others to improve wages and working conditions (NLRB), right to a safe and healthy work environment (OSHA), right to be paid (DOL). Also, the site provides lists of rights by profession, for all types of employees – office workers, day laborers, temps, restaurant employees, etc.
For each agency, there is a long list of the rights they enforce and detailed instructions and online links for filing an official complaint. Click here to access the site.
